Aeroflot Soviet
მეგობრები!
Let us begin with
the biggest news of the week. ფრენა გეგმები!!!!! --> FLIGHT PLANS!!!! When we got that email, we could not believe
how real this is getting. We are going to Armenia! On Aeroflot Soviet! Soviet!
There is still an airline out there with Soviet in the name. This has been our entertainment for the past five days.
In other news, the Lithuanians leave today. After their 10 week stay here at the MTC, one
has left for the Provo Mission, two more leave to Roseville, CA, and we have
one going to Fresno, CA. We are quite ready since we have less than a
week left here in the State of Utah.
Those of us not from Utah are anxious to no longer be in Utah, because
when you can only see the same acres of Utah, it can get a little
stale. Those that are from Utah are even
more impatient. This is okay, because we are going to live up to our
potential and finish out strong.
Very little
happened this week besides the flight plans, but there was an exciting medical
story. Elder Shamshoian fractured his ankle. He jumped up to block a volleyball. He landed on two legs. Somehow, he fractured his ankle. He may
not come to Armenia with us. He may be
sent home for a time. He may be
reassigned for a transfer. Super
unlucky. Extremely sad. We are
praying for him, but whatever happens is meant to happen. Also, it is a little funny that it happened
to him. And in the least exciting way
possible. Anyway.
Last Skype TRC was
yesterday. Apparently it wasn't even a Georgian. He was a missionary that
served there and now lives in Russia. We discussed repentance. I really didn't
understand what he said. I thought I did, but I did not. We discussed
repentance and the need to repent every day, so that we can improve ourselves.
I thought was saying we need to repent every day, pray every day, improve
ourselves so that we can better become like Christ and our Heavenly Father.
After the TRC, და პარსონი (Da Parsoni) informed me that he isn't the most
steadfast member of the Church and that he has some ideas that aren't
necessarily doctrinally correct. All those things I thought he said we
should do, ya, he said we don't need to do those things. But, და პარსონი
told me that if there was one principle of the gospel she would teach him, it
would be repentance. Kinda cool, but weird. Anyway the Lord works in mysterious
ways.
Lately I have been
considering the power of the Book of Mormon. Millions have come closer to
Christ by reading that book. In Georgia,
people have become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints,
only having read a few verses. There is power in The Book of Mormon. It is full of truth. When I say that, I mean that everything
written in that book is true. Read
it. If you don't have a copy, I know that
each one of you has some way to read it. Gospel Library app on your
phone, churchofjesuschrist.org,
find a member of The Church (I know you know some) and they will get you
one. If all else fails, I will send you one or get one to you
somehow. Just read it. It is the most true book on Earth. You
will get closer to God by abiding by its precepts. I love you all.
